LOCH NESS MONSTER FOUND ON GOOGLE EARTH? Click for larger picture August 26, 2009 UK (ChattahBox) - A Nottingham man claims to have found the Loch Ness Monster on Google Earth. Jason Cooke said he was browsing the satellite image program when he saw what looks like a large creature just under the water at coordinates 57°12′52.13″N, Longitude 4°34′14.16″W. "I couldn’t believe it. It’s just like the descriptions of Nessie," he was quoted by The Telegraph. The Loch Ness Monster is a legendary sea creature that has been a popular subject of investigation and speculation since 1933, when it was first thought to have been spotted.  In the years preceding there have been dozens of sightings, however most have been proven to be hoaxes, and none have been verified.  Despite several scientific expeditions and "monster hunts", the Loch Ness Monster has never been credibly witnessed. Google Earth has been known to sneak iconic images into historic places before, so that could be the explanation for this new find.
