Question:

1)  How much do you charge for an investigation?
A. Everything we do is free of charge.  We will never ask you for payment for anything we do.  If any member does ask we would appreciate it if you sent us an Email detailing the instance.  If an investigation is financially not feasible for us to undertake we will refer you to another group that can assist you.  With this said, donations are not unwelcome.  They are not expected but will generally be accepted.

2) How long does an investigation take?
A. Most of our investigations take 2 - 4 hours to complete. After we have had time to review our notes, recordings and photographic evidence, we will share our findings with you.  This will generally take several days.

3) How can I contact you about doing an investigation?
A. We can be contacted through Email: JOHN@JOLIETPARANORMAL.COM
Through our contact form at: Contact us,  or by phone at 1-(815)-651-4512

4) Can I invite family and/or friends for the investigation?
A. We ask that just the residents of the home be in attendance and that no guests be invited unless we have discussed it with you prior to the investigation.  We also ask that children not be present during the investigation.

5) Are ghosts dangerous?
A. In a typical haunting there is very little to no danger.

6) Can you get rid of our ghost?
A. No.  We are researchers and investigators and do not feel ourselves qualified to exorcise a home.  In the case of a residual haunting we don’t even believe it possible as it is just a recording of the past.  We would suggest you try simply asking a spirit to leave and if that does not work you could try being a little bit more forceful.  With our assistance in researching your case it may be possible to determine the reason for the haunt and finding a solution that way.  If you want your property cleansed or blessed we don't offer these services but can put you in contact with people that do.

7) Are you TAPS Family?
A. No.

8) Are only old houses or areas with a history of murder or natural death haunted?
A.  Spirits may haunt an area for any of many different reasons and not only because it's old, has history or a death. Unfinished business, a loved one, etc. may all make a spirit remain in an area. Objects and items may also retain a spirit if there was a strong attachment to it.

9) Can watching a scary movie, reading about ghosts, studying about ghosts or gathering  information about ghosts make my home haunted?
A. No, but two other things may happen.  The first is you may become more open to the idea of spirits and start noticing things that you initially brushed off as your mind playing tricks on you.  The second possibility is that as you become more open to the possibility you may develope a small amount of fear or anxiety.  These are powerful emotions that may "feed" a spirit or ghost, possibly increasing the intensity of the current activity.

10) What should I do if I think my house is haunted?
A. First of all, relax.  The chance of you being in any danger is very slim.  Next, start a diary of times and events that hapen.  Include as much detail as possible such as: who was present, who saw/heard/felt whatever it was and who didn't, times and days...  Lastly,  find a group in your area that you feel comfortable working with and having in your home.  Feel free to ask questions but remember they won't have any answers specific to your case until after they have a chance to investigate.

11) Will you post example pictures of dust orbs and other such pictures?
A. Knowledge of what is and isn't a paranormal photo is very important but for the time being we wlil not be posting such photos.  The main reason is that there are hundreds of other sites that have already posted those pictures and we want our site to tell the public about us and not rehash things that others have already covered.  The second reason is I would strongly encourage anyone interested in false positives to create their own.  You will learn tons more by finding out what causes what effect on your camera by experimenting than looking at other peoples photos.
