The Joliet Paranormal Society has a long history going back to 1998 when it was originally formed under the name "Haunted Chicagoland".  In 2000 it was decided a name change was in order and it was then that the Joliet Paranormal Society was born. With the advent of all the recent television shows about the paranormal comes a lot of people wanting to experience it for themselves.  We have enacted several policies in an effort to ensure that our members will be more than just "thrill seekers" and are people you will be comfortable having in your home.  All of our investigators must pass a background check and complete at least 6 weeks of training before ever attending an investigation.  We keep our group small so everyone gets the experience that is required to be a successful investigator.  We currently have 11 members, most with prior experience in the paranormal field. The Joliet Paranormal Society is also a member of the United States Paranormal Society and United Paranormal International.  We believe UNITY is very important for growth as a team and a community. As we work together we learn from each other and grow bonds with teams that we can count on for support and insight.
